Government Sponsored Students at Mbarara University Cry out for Help over Their Living out Allowances

The students at the Mbarara University have appealed to the authorities to release their living allowance.

In response to numerous appeals, the Guild president, Ms. Iculet Arinosi, penned a letter to the University Secretary explaining the various reasons why students should receive their allowances.

In a letter dated August 3, 2021, the university’s secretary said that the institution did not receive enough money to run its activities and also cater for the government-sponsored students for the July September period.

The government did not provide allowances for students. However, the University is working on an appeal to the Ministry of Finance.

Students have raised various complaints about the quality of their online studies. Some of them mentioned that the network connectivity was poor and the data costs were high.
