Cavendish University Eulogizes the Passing Away of Its Chancellor H.E Benjamin Mkapa

In profound shock and deep grief, Cavendish University Uganda mourns the sudden demise of its Chancellor H.E. Benjamin Mkapa that occurred on 24^th July 2020 at da-er salaam hospital Tanzania.

H.E. Benjamin Mkapa, has been a notable former President of the United Republic of Tanzania from 1995-2005, an accomplished education advocate and a compassionate leader. He will always be remembered for his Pan African ideals, great zeal and commitment in championing the education of global citizens particularly in Africa.

In an official statement posted on Cavendish University Uganda Facebook account, the deceased was defined as a true leader and a development agent who has led Cavendish University to greater heights. ‘’Throughout his tenure as the Chancellor at Cavendish University Uganda (2014-2020), he has played a significant role in the development and strengthening of our Academic model, teaching and learning philosophy. His passing will be mourned by the entire Cavendish University fraternity, we have lost not only a leader but a close friend,’’ the part of the statement describes.
