Shaping the 21st century lawyer

Over the years, our law graduates have taken their unique brand of outstanding holistic advocates into the legal sector.

At Uganda Christian University, we believe that a modern lawyer should have the basic skills of sound legal expertise in general and should specialise in a subject or certain subjects. However, that’s not enough. They also need a particular set of skills including leadership, business and technological skills. We train lawyers using a holistic approach because one cannot thrive without skills such as writing, observing good health, proper understanding of world views and most importantly excelling as a Christian lawyer. It’s important for a lawyer to have gravitas and be effective in their work whether they are working individually or as part of a team.

The contemporary lawyer must possess emotional intelligence and have good relations with people. Furthermore, they must have the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and diverse environment and also be agile and adaptable to the prevailing circumstances.
